With Scott Laird firing an early shot at the goal of the season award, Kevin Davies was left in awe of the left back’s terrific strike at Chorley.
Laird scored PNE’s first goal in a 3-2 win over Chorley as the Lilywhites got pre-season underway.
And his 35-yard rocket was as good a strike as you will see all season.
“I’m hoping he will be saving one or two of those for the season!” joked Kevin Davies, in an exclusive interview with PNE Player
“Someone was saying to me before the game that he was due a goal but that was a cracker wasn’t it.
“We were probably a bit disappointed with the goals we conceded in the first half, it was a bit sloppy, but it is early doors and we have only been back about 12 days, so there is lots to work on, but it was a great strike by Scott.”
