PNE Player spoke to Preston North End manager Simon Grayson in the opening days of pre-season training as the players got back to business.
Faces new and old came together on Thursday as PNE’s pre-season camp officially got underway.
And with the sweat already pouring from the boys after a gruelling return to work, the gaffer discussed the summer and the training regime in place now that normality has resumed.
Speaking exclusively to PNE Player, Grayson said: “I think the players are just delighted to get back, a lot of them have been away and enjoyed it, but if you are a professional athlete there is only so much time you can spend on a sun lounger or in a different country.
“You are coming back to do something you get paid well for and enjoy, so it is hard work but it will be an enjoyable time.
“We have got the games coming up very soon, but there is a lot of work still to be done before that.”
