Scott Wiseman Feeling Good About 2014/15 Season At Preston North End

27 June 2014

Preston North End defender Scott Wiseman says there is a feel good factor around the Club heading into the 2014/15 season.

The Lilywhites have already swooped to sign Calum Woods, Jamie Jones, Jordan Hugill, Andy Little and Kyel Reid during the transfer window in an effort to build on last term’s fifth place finish in Sky Bet League One.

Neil Kilkenny, who spent a large chunk of last season at Deepdale, has also put pen to paper on a new two-year contract, as has young, Barrow-in-Furness-born defender Ben Davies.

And Wiseman, who was signed by Simon Grayson in January, believes it is an ideal time to be a part of the Preston set-up due to the Club’s high aspirations.

He said in an exclusive interview with PNE.Com: “It’s a Championship club. It’s got Championship players, it’s got a Championship background and it’s got Championship history, if not higher.

“It’s a fantastic place to be at the minute and it’s going places so that’s the reason why I came here and why there’s a big pull for everyone else coming here as well so it will only get better.”

Preston’s 2013/14 League One campaign ended in heartbreak as they lost 4-2 on aggregate to Rotherham United in the Play-Off semi-final.

But Wiseman insists the defeat will be used as motivation by Grayson’s squad next season, adding: “I think we have a point to prove now after failing at the Play-Offs.

“We need to get back on it and back into it straight away and I think all the lads will be the same, they’ll want to get back on and get that automatic this year.”
