Preston North End boss Simon Grayson says he is excited by the arrival of Jordan Hugill.
The Lilywhites swooped to sign the striker from Port Vale for an undisclosed fee after he turned down a contract offer at Vale Park.
By putting pen to paper at Deepdale the 22-year-old became Preston’s third summer signing, following the additions of Calum Woods from and Jamie Jones.
North End boss Grayson was glad to get the deal done and is now looking forward to developing the young striker, who he believes is an exciting prospect.
“He was out of contract so we arranged a deal for him to come and join us which is exciting because as a young lad he’s got a lot of potential,” Grayson told PNE Player in an exclusive interview.
“He’s certainly not the finished article but when the opportunity came along after the reports we’ve had and other people that I’ve spoken to, it was a good opportunity to go and get him.
“He’s one of a number of strikers we’re looking to bring in, and in other areas of the pitch as well.”
