Joe Garner Eager To Do It For The Fans

8 May 2014

Joe Garner’s mind is truly focused on the Play-Offs and for the top scorer, as well as the excitement of what’s to come, it brings with it an extra level of motivation.

As a North End fan he travelled as a six-year-old to Wembley for the Final against Martin O’Neill’s Wycombe Wanderers back in 1994, something he admits has given him more than a bit of fire in his belly ahead of the current campaign.

“If you could guarantee it, this is the nicest way to go up,” the No.14 told The One And Only.

“I remember my first trip down to Wembley for the Wycombe game, where we lost 4-2 and I remember it being a long journey home afterwards.

“If we get there I will be doing everything I can so that the fans don’t have to drive back from London with that feeling again.

“That was one of my first games, but I will be doing everything I can to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

“The Bolton final and the West Ham final are other memories that I have, I know how the fans felt when they went home and as a fan myself I will be doing everything I can to make this time different.”

To read a lot more from Joe, as well as exclusive interviews with Brian Mooney, Ian Bryson, Ryan Kidd, Mark Rankine, David Eyres, Chris Sedgwick, Brett Ormerod and Sean St. Ledger, as well as Mark Lawrenson and WWE Interncontinental champion ‘Bad News’ Barrett selecting their greatest PNE XI’s, this is a matchday programme not to be missed!
