May Half-term Activities With Preston North End

22 May 2014

From Tuesday the 27th to Friday the 30th May, Preston North End’s Sir Tom Finney Foundation will be offering three different courses for children aged four to 14-years-old.

The first exciting course being offered is the ‘Train Like A Pro’ half-term soccer school.

The times for this school are from 8.30am to 4.30pm at Springfields training ground.

During this soccer school, the children will be training like the pros with position specific training sessions and drills.

The first day will focus on defensive work, the second day on the engine room of a football team the midfield and the third day on how to be the goalscoring hero with a striker masterclass.

On the final day, we will bring all these skills together for a matchday scenario.

And best of all, to complete the ‘train like a pro’ experience, the participants will have access to first team training equipment while playing on the same pitch the first team hones their skills on!

This means that the only thing children will need to have each day is a packed lunch, football boots, shin pads and suitable football training clothing.

As with all other PNE soccer schools, coaching will be provided by North End’s own CRB checked, FA qualified coaches.

The prices for the soccer school are £10 per day, or if you pay £40 and book for the full four days, you will receive two free tickets (one child and one adult) for a selected game next season.

For more information or to book your child’s place, please contact the Sir Tom Finney Foundation on 01772 693322 or email community@pne.com

The second programme that the Sir Tom Finney Foundation will be offering during this May half-term is the brand new ‘PNE Activity Zone’ which will include activities such as drama and dance workshops, singing, multisport sessions, arts and crafts and the PNE film club.

As with the ‘Train Like A Pro’ soccer school, the ‘Activity Zone’ will run from 9am to 4pm, with an 8.30 early drop-off and 4.30pm last pick-up.

This course will be held at Deepdale Stadium in the Sir Tom Finney Community and Learning Centre.

As part of this programme, the kids will put on a performance and craft display to show their parents and guardians on the last day.

The prices for this activity are £10 per day, or if you pay £40 and book for the full four days, you will receive two free tickets (one child and one adult) for a selected game next season.

All participants will receive a medal and certificate!

Unfortunately, places on this new and exciting PNE course are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.

For more information or to book on the course, please contact the Sir Tom Finney Foundation on 01772 693322 or email community@pne.com

The third and final option on offer is the Grange half-term soccer school which is set to be in the afternoon only, from 1.00 to 4.00pm at the Grange Primary School 3G pitch in Ribbleton.

This school will be divided into two separate age groups, each working on their own skills.

For the four to nine year olds, our FA qualified and CRB-checked coaches have planned a soccer school full of fundamental football sessions that will focus on fun, enjoyment and development.

For the older ten to fourteen-year-old group, there will be structured player development sessions including position specific training and themed match play.

Parents have the option of booking their kids on for the full course or just for specific days.

Every child will get a certificate and medal, and the school will also be receiving a visit from Deepdale Duck!

Each day they participate, children will need to provide their own waterproof jacket, appropriate football attire, shin pads and astroturf trainers.

You can book on this course at £24 for the full four afternoons or alternatively pay £6 for an individual day.

To book a place, please return all forms with payment to the Grange Primary School office.

For more information, you can contact the school directly or contact the Sir Tom Finney Foundation on 01772 693322 or email community@pne.com
