Preston North End will welcome Liverpool to Deepdale for the second consecutive season to kick-off the Lilywhites’ home pre-season campaign.
Brendan Rodgers brings his squad to Lancashire on Saturday 19th July, kick-off 3pm, as they look to follow on from their second placed finish in the 2013/14 Premier League season.
As for North End, this fixture marks their first home friendly ahead of the 2014/15 season, with Simon Grayson and his players setting their sights on a return to the Championship.
Liverpool ran out 4-0 winners in this fixture last season as the pair contested the ‘Shankly Shield’ in front of a sell-out crowd to remember the great Bill Shankly who spent 16 years at Preston before creating one of England’s greatest ever sides with Liverpool.
