Preston North End boss Simon Grayson has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One manager of the month for October.
The Lilywhites were flawless during the calendar month, taking a maximum 15 points from five league matches and progressing in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with victory over Port Vale.
North End were also in red hot form in front of goal, scoring 15 times in those six fixtures.
And with all factors taken into account, Grayson has been rewarded with a place on the shortlist for the October accolade.
The gaffer will need to fend of competition from Shaun Derry who also steered his Notts County to a perfect month in terms of league results, Steve Davis who has got Crewe Alexandra back on track and Oldham
Athletic’s Lee Johnson, the Latics winning all three home fixtures and earning credible draws at Peterborough United and Chesterfield.
