FA Youth Cup Tonight!

5 November 2014

North End’s youngsters make the trip down the M6 this evening as they face Crewe Alexandra in the first round of the FA Youth Cup at Gresty Road.

Nick Harrison’s side, who reached the third round last season before being eventually knocked out in extra-time by the previous season’s finalists Norwich City, face a tough test in their first round tie.

The game, which kicks-off at 7pm, comes after a solid start to the season for the young Lilywhites, with the side victorious in their last league game, an excellent 4-1 outing at Oldham Athletic.

Academy boss Harrison is able to report a clean bill of health ahead of the game, with a significant number of the squad having tasted competitive action in the competition 12 months ago.

The reward for the winners is a second round tie at their home venue, with York City – also the visitors to Deepdale in the second round of the 2013/14 competition, the opponents of tonight’s victors.

PNE.Com and PNE Player will be present at the game, with live commentary available from 6.55pm and coverage on Twitter during the match.

Entry this evening will be available with adults paying £3 and concessions £1, so why not make the trip down to see the nex generation of players trying to earn professional contracts and also try and earn themselves a place in the next round of the FA Youth Cup at the same time.
