Jamie Jones Frustrated By Outcome

4 November 2014

Preston North End goalkeeper Jamie Jones was disappointed and frustrated following Tuesday’s narrow loss to Swindon Town.

The Lilywhites lost 1-0 at the County Ground after matching their opponents throughout the contest, and the result left the North End dressing room hugely frustrated at the full time whistle.

Speaking to PNE.Com, Jones said: “It’s very frustrating to come away from the game with nothing.

“We had our game plan and we knew how they would set up and we dealt with that really well and frustrated them and we thought we could nick it 1-0 with a professional performance but it didn’t happen like that.

“So to go in after getting beat 1-0 is really disappointing and frustrating.

“The goal was unlucky, they have got it out wide and David Buchanan has done his best to stop the cross and luckily enough it has dropped right into their striker’s path who is running onto it, but it’s one of them nights were we have got to start winning a few more tackles and go from there and I’m sure we will push back on.”

PNE now have a welcome six days before they are next in competitive action against Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup and go into that match second in Sky Bet League One, a fact worth reiterating following back-to-back defeats.

“We are still second in the league now and after two defeats – we will bounce back, and we are looking to do that in our next league game in a couple of weeks’ time,” stated Jones.

“But it is the FA Cup now and I’m sure we are all looking forward to that to get back to winning ways.

“We might have a few niggles, I’m not too sure on that, but we can rest them up now and prepare for Monday and a cup tie.

“They are looking for the upset but we will prepare right and make sure that doesn’t happen.”
