Preston North End Launch Food Appeal

21 November 2014

Preston North End is asking our fantastic fans to make it a merry Christmas for all with the donation of food items for the homeless as part of our ‘Whites Christmas’ campaign.

At a time of year full of joy and happiness; for homeless people and the vulnerably housed, Christmas can be a dark, cold and lonely time of year with no friends or family for support.

And for some, the only things that really matter is a warm, dry and safe place to sleep – a single meal and a hot beverage being a treat rather than the norm which the vast majority of us experience.

This Christmas, Preston North End and the Foxton Centre are coming together and we need you, our fans, to make this a wonderful festive period for all.

To help us spread the festive cheer, we are asking for donations of various non-perishable food items such as tinned meals, rice, pasta, oil, sugar, flour, jam, etc. which the Club can then hand over to the Foxton Centre.

Sweets and chocolate are optional, but they would definitely be appreciated. After all – it’s Christmas, and sharing is caring.

The Foxton Centre is helping the most marginalised people of the Avenham area in Preston during the Christmas period by hosting a Christmas day meal and providing those who need it with warm clothes.

And as the city’s football club, we want to do our bit to make this a Christmas to remember as part of our ‘Whites Christmas’ campaign.

Food items can be dropped off at the office suite reception at Deepdale – including on matchdays before kick-off.

The Club office opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and the office will also be open prior to our home fixtures with Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons on Saturday the 6th and 13th respectively.

The last day for donations is Saturday 13th December.

A player or member of the management team will then take the items to The Foxton Centre in time for Christmas to hopefully put a smile on the faces of the most vulnerable people in our community.

So please, give what you can this Christmas and let’s make it a memorable day for one and all.
