Fireworks Expected In Youth Cup!

13 October 2014

North End will face a trip to play Academy side Crewe Alexandra in the first round of the FA Youth Cup, with the tie to be played on Bonfire Night.

The Lilywhites will travel to Gresty Road to play at the Alexandra Stadium in a 7pm kick-off on Wednesday 5th November 2014.

In 2013/14 the youth team faced three home ties in the competition, dispatching Mansfield Town and York City by very convincing scorelines in rounds one and two, before holding then Premier League Norwich City to a 1-1 after 90 minutes, only to go out after extra-time in the third round.

However, Nick Harrison’s U18 side must go on the road this season and face one of the toughest tests available in the first round, with the Crewe Alex Academy well known for its production line over the past few years.

Entry on the evening will be available with adults paying £3 and concessions £1, so why not make the trip down to see the next generation of players trying to earn professional contracts and also earn themselves a place in the next round of the FA Youth Cup at the same time.
