North End will be able to call on the services of England U20 international Callum Robinson until 3rd January after his youth loan was extended.
Robinson has also been on international duty with the England U20 squad in the Netherlands during the recent international window.
Speaking about the extension of the loan deal, Grayson said: “When we brought Callum to the football club we knew the talent that he was and the qualities he had and he has shown that.
“There is going to be a lot of games coming up over the next few weeks and he is going to get plenty of game time.
“Aston Villa are really pleased that he has come to us and is doing well and helping us out and vice versa.
“It is great experience for him that he has come to us and he has settled in really well.
“From day one he has been a lovely kid, from the first night that I met him he seemed very professional and has got a fantastic attitude and is a real good lad – and he has shown that on the training pitch.
“Whether he has played in a reserve game, 20 minutes in a first team game, or doing whatever on the training pitch, he has done everything we have wanted him to do and I am really excited and delighted that
Aston Villa have agreed to this.”
Robinson featured five times for Villa last season; four of those appearances coming in the Premier League.
