Simon Grayson Challenges Players To ‘Earn The Right To Win’

15 September 2014

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has set his players the task of earning back-to-back wins as the Lilywhites look to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointment.

North End suffered their first defeat of the Sky Bet League One season at the weekend, and the gaffer wants his players to get that match out their system with three points against Chesterfield at Deepdale.

“You have to earn the right to win football matches,” said Grayson.

“You can’t just expect to go out because you are at home, or a team that are further up the division than other teams, that you have the given right to win it.

“You have to work harder than the opposition, you have to show your qualities, you want the desire to be there.

“All these ingredients add up to trying to win any football match and more times than not the players have always done that.”
