Simon Grayson Describes Attitude As ‘Absolutely Fantastic’

2 September 2014

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson was pleased with all aspects of his side’s performance in victory over Shrewsbury Town.

A second half Jordan Hugill goal – his first at Deepdale, was enough to give the Lilywhites victory and a place in the hat for round two of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Speaking to PNE Player following the full-time whistle, Grayson said: “We want to win as many matches as possible, it is a way to get to Wembley, and sometimes these games can be difficult because it is a small crowd and players are playing thinking ‘am I going to be playing at the weekend’ etc. but tonight, the application, the attitude from every player and the work rate was absolutely fantastic.

“I was really pleased with the players that have not played for a long time; they showed their fitness levels of how hard they have trained in between waiting for a chance and how well they did for the team.

“I thought it was a good team performance again.”
