Tom Clarke Delighted With All Round Team Performance

27 September 2014

Preston North End defender Tom Clarke was delighted to come away from the Ricoh Arena with all three points and a dominant performance by the Lilywhites.

Clarke scored the opening goal in a 2-0 victory for PNE, and was pleased with the team’s all round performance throughout the ninety minutes, with the bonus of a second consecutive clean sheet.

“It was a great feeling to come away with the win, and playing as we did, we know we can play like that and finally we’ve shown that and got the win and its an important win.

“We were all on it, we were closing them down, they didn’t know what to do, they are a passing team and we knew that and we worked on that during the week and we closed them down well and broke on them.

“We work very hard during the week on it, and its been frustrating the last couple of games conceding and that’s not what we’re about, but as a team we were all on it and we are pleased to get the clean sheet as an added bonus.

“They are a tough team, we have worked on them all week and we knew it was going to be difficult but everyone was on it and when we are like that we are tough to beat.”
