Garner Looking To Make It A Hat-trick

20 April 2015

Joe Garner is hoping to add to his double from the Football League awards by achieving promotion with Preston North End.

The North End talisman was named Sky Bet League One Player of the Year and also picked up the accolade for Goal of the Year at the national awards for his goal against Rotherham at Deepdale last season.

PNE's top goalscorer was delighted with the recognition he received but insists he would swap both of those awards for promotion with the Lilywhites this season.

"I'm obviously very happy with winning the awards and hopefully we can get promotion now.

"That's what we set out for at the start of the season but it's always nice to win any award and I'm happy with them and like I say now hopefully we can finish the job off.

"We're sat in a really nice position now in the league with three massive games to come, three cup finals really and we know that it's in our own hands which is always nice come this part of the season.

"We've spoken about it with the lads and we've got a lot of experience and we need to finish games off a little bit better and we've spoken about that ourselves and we will go into the game on Tuesday night confident that we can pick up enough points to gain promotion."
