The Lilywhites boss Simon Grayson admitted the outcome of this afternoon’s top of the table clash was probably a fair one with the game ending honours even.
Jermaine Beckford’s close range finish just under the hour mark gave North End the lead, but Steve Cotterill’s men levelled things up four minutes later through Aaron Wilbraham.
And in a game where the tempo was high, and the chances were a plenty, Grayson told PNE Player the point his side take home today is a reasonable one heading into Tuesday’s game at home to Gillingham.
He said: “It was a close game – obviously we knew what was at stake today, but I thought both teams had a right good go trying to win it – there was incidents in both boxes and both were equally as competitive in certain areas.
“Overall it was a real good advert for League One – it was entertaining and it was probably a fair result as well.
“If you’d have asked me this morning would I have took a point, and you add to the six we’ve taken over Easter then we’d have certainly done that.”
