Grayson Willing To Take Slender Victories All Day Long

3 April 2015

Following’s the Lilywhites 1-0 win over Rochdale, PNE boss Simon Grayson admitted he isn’t fussy what the result is, as long as it’s three points in his side's favour.

Jermaine Beckford’s first-half strike proved to be the match winner with the forward firing the ball past the legs of ‘keeper Josh Lillis and into the net.

Although the score line suggests otherwise, the Lilywhites were more than worth the victory this afternoon, a vital win going into a tricky encounter away to Bradford on Easter Monday.

“You take a 5-4, or a 1-0 all day long - you’re willing to take whatever it takes at this stage of the season to get the three points,” stated the North End gaffer to PNE Player this evening.

“We knew it was going to be tough from the previous encounters we’ve had with them.

“We didn’t play as well as we can do, but we still had some fantastic opportunities to win the game and ultimately we’ve taken the one chance that’s mattered and got the win.

“It’s not a result where we’ve scraped and just won 1-0, we’ve created some good chances – they’ve not had too many chances – we had some scary moments but we had most of the possession as well, so overall it was a good win for us.”
