Simon Grayson Delighted With Bantams Win

6 April 2015

PNE manager Simon Grayson was ecstatic with all aspects of his team’s performance as they swept aside Bradford City 3-0.

The Bantams, who had Chris Routis sent off inside the opening 15 minutes for hauling down Joe Garner, coped admirably with North End’s threat in the first half, but two goals inside the opening exchanges of the second period from Paul Gallagher and Daniel Johnson had PNE in control before Chris Humphrey made it three with a looping long range strike.

And the gaffer was pleased with how his side applied themselves throughout the contest.

Grayson said: “It’s a difficult place to come [Valley Parade] and they [Bradford City] play a certain way, you have to stand up and be counted, make sure you play in the right areas on a real difficult surface, and some key decisions in the game went in our favour – they were most certainly right as well.

“To come away with three points, three goals and a cleansheet, you can’t be asking for much more than that.

“I think it’s the right decision,” he continued when asked about the early sending off.

“Bailey Wright had a header back into their half and Joe Garner has got in front of their lad and [Chris Routis] brought him down – I don’t think anybody could disagree that it wasn’t a sending off.”
