Striker Jermaine Beckford is confident that the current Preston North End squad can compete in the second tier of English football.
Beckford scored six goals in an unbelievable Play-Off campaign for the Lilywhites last season and now feels the side are ready to make the step up.
The 31-year-old has a vast amount of experience in the Championship and he can't wait for the season to get underway this weekend.
"I have played there before, don't get me wrong, I'm still learning, but everything that I have learnt along the way I am looking to pass on to all of the younger boys.
"I'm more than sure that we've got a good enough squad to do well in this league.
"When you're in a team that works really well for you and you've got a manager and staff that you get on really well with, it only helps to enchance the excitement and none of us can wait."
