Striker Jordan Hugill was delighted to get his first goal of the season in the 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra.
Hugill scored the first of PNE's three goals in the game to help the Lilywhites progress to the second round of the Capital One Cup, and he was pleased to get on the scoresheet.
"It's always good to get a goal, I should have had two really but I wasn't expecting the ball to come to me for that second one.
"It's always good to start off the season with a goal, and it's come early so hopefully I can add to it.
"As a team we did well tonight, it shows that with the lads that have come in tonight can do as good a job and work hard and obviously get the goals as well."
