New signing Marnick Vermijl admits he felt at home right away after talks with Preston North End and is delighted to join Simon Grayson's side.
The right-back has been assigned the No.2 shirt, and admits the belief put in him by the management team was also a factor in his decision to join the Club.
"I'm really happy that it's finally been completed. I heard a long time ago that Preston were interested and I wanted to play regular football and Preston was the right choice for me.
"It's a privilege to get the number, it just gives you that something extra. You know that they believe in you and everything so that helped me make my decision as well.
"Every talk I've had with the people here at Preston, I just felt at home straight away and for me that's really important."
The move sees the 23-year-old team up once again with former Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday teammate Will Keane, something the Belgian U21 international feels will only benefit him.
"It's always good if you know a player well when you come into a new team so he can help me out. He knows how things work here so if I've got questions I know I can rely on him."
This weekend's Championship opener against Middlesbrough at Deepdale could see the defender make his first appearance in a North End shirt, and he admits the prospect of playing in front of a big crowd, live on Sky Sports, is an exciting one.
"We want to get off to a good start, the first game is going to be difficult but these are the games that everyone looks forward to.
"Plus it's on television so that's an extra motivation for us. As a young player that is the dream, when you are young you always looked at all the big games and playing in front of big crowds so let's go and win the game on Sunday!"
