Gaffer Ready To Up The Ante

14 December 2015

Manager Simon Grayson wants his side to raise their game once again as Birmingham City come to Deepdale on Tuesday night.

North End made it back-to-back wins on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Reading, but the manager and his side won't be complacent when they come up against Gary Rowett's side.

"We know we have to up the ante from Saturday's game, we can't think that we just have to turn up because we've won the last two games.

"We have to make sure that we're working even harder, running even harder, passing the ball better and remaining disciplined in our approach.

"We want to build off the belief and the confidence from the last few games but we won't be underestimating anybody in this division, because if you do, there's some major threats in these teams."

Speaking of Birmingham's season so far, the PNE boss continued: "But the team that Birmingham have got and the system that Gary has put together has shown what can be done in this division.

"You don't have to have loads of money or a big budget, you've just got to keep punching to get results against the bigger teams.

"Gary's got everything spot on but hopefully things go in our favour on Tuesday night and we can build on the results that we've had over the last few weeks."
