Jordan Pickford On ‘A Fair Result’

15 December 2015

Man of the match, Jordan Pickford believed the 1-1 draw against Birmingham was a fair reflection of how the 90 minutes panned out.

North End took the lead mid-way through the first-half through Adam Reach’s first goal for the Club and arguably were the better side in the opening 45.

However, the visitors came back in the second-half and began to pile on the pressure towards the end and ultimately equalise through Michael Morrison on the 68th minute.

Birmingham came close to snatching a winner on several occasions only for Pickford to keep them at bay and ensure both sides went away with a share of the spoils.

“It was probably a good result for us in the end,” told Pickford to PNE Player after the final whistle.

“They had quite a few chances at the end - I was a bit disappointed with the goal we conceded from my point of view - I was in no man’s land.

“They’re a good side and they’ve started the season well so it’s a valuable point at the end.

“It would have been nice to get the second goal – when you’re only 1-0 there’s always a chance that they can come back and that’s what they did - they’re a counter attacking side - but we did well and it’s a point at the end of the day.”
