Update On Stevie May's Knee Injury

3 December 2015

Manager Simon Grayson has confirmed that striker Stevie May will be out for the remainder of the season.

May suffered a knee injury late on against Fulham last weekend, and initial fears were confirmed after scan results came back this week.

Speaking of the news, the gaffer said: "We've had all of the results back from the scans and unfortunately Stevie has done quite a bit of damage to his ligaments in his knee and the outcome of that is that he will miss until at least the end of the season.

"That's a huge blow first and foremost for him, it's massively disappointing for him that he's come to a new club, just started to settle in and we've seen glimpses of his potential but unfortunately he's suffered this injury.

"A lot of our sympathy goes with him, he will have good people working with him, other players have had similar injuries and come back better and stronger so we will be giving him our full support.
"It's a huge blow for everybody, physically it's a hard, long slog back, but obviously emotionally and psychologically it is as well because you see players going out to training everyday and you're stuck in the gym with the physio.

"We will give him every opportunity to make his recovery successful and hopefully he comes back and picks up where he left off for us."

Everyone at Preston North End would like to wish Stevie the best during his recovery.
