North End picked up all three points on the final matchday of 2015, a year John Welsh describes as one of the best of his career.
The Lilywhites overcame promotion hopefuls Hull City at Deepdale with a terrific team performance, and Welsh, who made his 150th appearance for PNE on the day, was delighted to get the win.
"It's been one of the best years of my career, the togetherness and the spirit within the camp since I've been here has been excellent.
"Obviously with everything that happened last season, it's been a roller-coaster but I've enjoyed every minute and hopefully 2016 will be even better.
Speaking of the win over Hull, the midfielder continued: "We knew it was going to be tough, probably looking at their team, they are looking to compete in the Premier League, that's what they're expecting.
"We knew we were going to have to put a shift in, win second balls, win headers, win tackles and give us a base to play off and I thought we did that excellently.
"We got the ball down, had quality and we were disappointed to go in at half time with the score at 0-0."
