Manager Confident Ahead Of FA Cup Clash

2 February 2015

Speaking to PNE Player ahead of the FA Cup replay, Simon Grayson tells PNE Player he and his squad remain positive in reaching their targets this season.

The Lilywhites have suffered a disappointing month in January and the manager admits the performances both from the team and individually have not been good enough but expects that to change very quickly knowing what the players are capable of.

"Every player suffers little blips in his career and throughout the course of the season and many other players and clubs are going to go through it or have been through it or will go through it over the next few months.

"That's just part and parcel of football but it is about reminding the players of what they've done previously to get to where we are and go out and express themselves.

"As we said we haven't got many other options available apart from the 17 or 18 that were available at the end minus Johnstone and Johnson so we've got to go there with a belief and the confidence levels to really go and give Sheffield United a game because why can't we?

"Why can't we go there and produce a performance, why can't we go there and get into the next round of the FA Cup because we do believe in what we've got and if it's a fantastic performance and we win it then great.

"If it's a scrappy game and we win it with a deflected goal that might be the defining part of the season that we've been looking for the last few months."
