Match Winner Kevin Davies Delighted To Reach 150 Mark

7 February 2015

Preston North End striker Kevin Davies notched his 150th career goal as the Lilywhites despatched of a gutsy Coventry City at Deepdale on Saturday.

The frontman – whose last goal came against the Sky Blues, headed home Paul Gallagher’s cross in the first half to set up the hosts for the three points, a win they had to grind out in the second half.

And the veteran forward was delighted to be back finding the net.

Speaking to PNE Player following the full time whistle, Davies said: “It’s been a long time coming hasn’t it?

“It’s been a long drought but finally it is over and I have managed to pop one in the back of the net – I was starting to forget what it felt like to be honest!

“It is nice to get it out the way now and more importantly get the three points as well.

“It is nice to get on the scoresheet again, it has obviously been a long time and there has been a bit of frustration around but I have kept plugging away, working hard and creating chances for the other lads as well as trying to score myself so I’m pleased to finally get it.”
