Preston North End manager Simon Grayson heaped plaudits on his players following the Lilywhites’ stunning victory over Sheff Utd at Bramall Lane.
North End came from 1-0 down at the break to win 3-1 and set up a fifth round FA Cup clash at Deepdale with world footballing superpower Manchester United.
And the gaffer was quick to praise his charges who bossed the game from start to finish.
“I thought from minute one the players performed and carried out everything that we asked them to do,” said Grayson, in his post-match interview with PNE Player.
“They worked extremely hard, they passed the ball in the right areas, made the right decisions and it was a bit of a travesty that we went in 1-0 down at half-time against the run of play.
“We had some good opportunities, the ‘keeper made some good saves and it could have been an opportunity for the players to feel sorry for themselves.
“But they kept going and had the belief to get a result and obviously it is a fantastic night for everybody connected with Preston.”
