Sir Tom Finney: Always In Our Hearts

13 February 2015

Today marks the first anniversary of the passing of the greatest ever PNE player and one of the all-time England greats, Sir Tom Finney.

The Club will be paying tribute in Monday night’s edition of the matchday programme, The One And Only, where there will be 12-pages of unseen pictures, sent in by our fantastic fans to create a memorable tribute.

Also marking the occasion, the Club have been working with BBC North West Tonight and BBC Radio Lancashire, who have asked fans to share their memories of the most iconic of men.

Throughout the course of this week, North West Tonight have been sharing the fans’ stories on their evening reports in the build up to the anniversary, which can also be found online on the BBC News ‘Lancashire’ section.

There is also a special book placed in the Club shop at Deepdale where you can still share your own memories about Sir Tom, and the book is there for you to continue to pay your tributes going forward.

Also on the night of the FA Cup tie with Manchester United, Sir Tom’s son Brian Finney will be alongside England manager Roy Hodgson to make the FA Cup quarter-final draw at Deepdale prior to kick-off.  A very fitting tribute to such a great man.
