Snods Looking To Close The Gap Following Scunthorpe Victory

21 February 2015

Preston North End assistant manager Glynn Snodin had more reasons to be cheerful this afternoon after the Lilywhites recorded their third consecutive league victory.

A clean sheet, a convincing second-half performance against Scuntorpe as well as seeing results elsewhere go in favour of the Lilywhites this afternoon, means it’s pretty reading for everyone concerned with North End tonight.

Daniel Johnson’s first goal in North End colours, and Paul Gallagher’s 12th of the season the reason for that - but Snods admitted to PNE Player after the final whistle it took the home side a while to get going, but once they did, they never looked back.

“We had to get the Man United game out of our system and there was a few difficult periods in that 45 minutes,” acknowledged the PNE No2.

“They’ve [Scunthorpe] not lost in nine away games and they did their homework on us, so we had to change our system at half-time and change the way we played and luckily it worked for us.

“The other promotions sides are going to be looking over their shoulder for Preston North End – they know what a big club and what great players we’ve got here.

“We’re not looking over our shoulders, we’re looking beyond that and looking to catch up on the top two.”
