Preston North End captain Tom Clarke was pleased to see his side rewarded with three points after a good second half display to beat Scunthorpe United 2-0.
And Clarke insists it was a job well done by his team-mates, on a day when two of the three teams above North End lost in Sky Bet League One.
“It was a great performance,” said Clarke.
“I think first half we weren’t fully at it, but second half we turned it around and managed to get the goals and the cleansheet is brilliant, it is what we work hard for all week.
“I think the first half in itself was quite stop-start which is probably what they wanted.
“Second half we got more on the ball with quick free kicks and that is what we are all about.
“We passed it well and created a lot of chances I thought in the second half.”
