PNE boss Simon Grayson cut a frustrated figure after Preston failed to pick up all three points this evening.
And it was Gallagher again who put the Lilywhites in front from the penalty spot with 20 minutes left to go.
However, Orient replied late in the day to grab a share of the spoils through Chris Dagnall in the 78th minute, leaving Grayson to rue the performance throughout the whole 90 minutes.
“This was a game that we looked at and thought this would be a great opportunity to get the three points if we performed the way we were capable of doing and that’s no disrespect to Orient.
“We didn’t do enough of the good things that have made us successful this season with or without the ball – attacking wise and defensively.
“There was players who were left out of the team tonight, and players who were left out of the 18 completely so when you don’t play very well, those players will be first to think that they’re in with a chance on Tuesday night, [against Yeovil].
“When you’ve not played well you want to get a reaction from your players, and hopefully we’ll get that on Tuesday."
