Captain Frustrated And Disappointed At JPT Exit

27 January 2015

Disappointment was etched over the face of Tom Clarke as he discussed Preston North End's exit in the JPT.

The all yellow Lilywhites bowed out in the Northern Area Final following a goalless encounter at the Banks's Stadium - Walsall's two goal lead from the first leg enough to book their trip to Wembley.

And Clarke bemoaned the closing stages of that game at Deepdale, slackness costing Preston rather than brilliance from the Saddlers.

"It is frustrating," said Clarke, in an exclusive interview with PNE Player.

"In the previous games we have done well but the last ten minutes [in the first leg] have cost us really.

"Today we had a couple of chances, couldn't take them, and it is disappointing we couldn't just get over the line."
