Daniel Johnson: “I Can’t Wait To Get Started”

23 January 2015

North End’s new No.24 admitted that close friend Callum Robinson played a part in his decision to join Preston North End over other clubs.

The Jamaican-born central midfielder signed a two and a half year contract on Friday evening and immediately spoke exclusively to PNE Player to express his delight at joining the Lilywhites.

“I am delighted to be here,” he told the Club’s official online video service. “I have heard from Callum Robinson that this is a good Club and a great set of lads and I can’t wait to get started now.

“When I played against the Club for Chesterfield I thought this was a really strong side and would be challenging for automatic promotion and I am delighted to be able to add my qualities to the side.

“I’m looking forward to pushing on over the next few months. It is disappointing to be cup tied and having to sit and watch the next two games – but I think a week of training will benefit me and I will be ready, if selected, for the Crawley Town game.

“The spells at Chesterfield and Oldham really benefitted me. There is nothing better than playing men’s football and I now know what is required in this division to win games and hopefully I can play my part.”
