Kevin Davies Looking Forward To Battle With The Blades

8 January 2015

North End's No.9 Kevin Davies tells PNE Player he is relishing the prospect of facing the side he supported as a boy when PNE travel to Sheffield United.

Davies grew up in Sheffield and was a regular at Bramall Lane and, should he be selected by manager Simon Grayson, it is a game he is looking forward to being a part of.

"I spent many years walking down to Bramall Lane, I only lived just around the corner from there so as a young boy it was a team that I loved and supported and I've got some great memories of going down there with my brother and my mates and being a Junior Blade. It's always nice to play against them really.

"It's always going to be a tough place to go, they're a big club, similar to ourselves that find themselves in League One.

"We know how well they are doing this year so it's going to be difficult for us again, they'll obviously be buoyed on by their result in the FA Cup, another big scalp for them, they've done really well in the cups but they've not quite managed to have any sort of real consistency in the league.

"We find ourselves quite a few points ahead of them now but still on their day they're a tough team. They're a hard team to break down so we know we've got to dust ourselves down from the result on Wednesday night and go there and give a big performance and obviously keep the league form going."
