Simon Grayson Delighted To Have Achieved Objective

3 January 2015

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson heaped praise on his squad following a convincing dissection of Norwich City at Deepdale to win 2-0.

The Lilywhites beat their Championship opponents in convincing fashion with Paul Gallagher grabbing a brace to book PNE a place in the fourth round draw.

And at the conclusion of the match, Grayson was pleased with how his squad dealt with the changes made to the starting XI ahead of a busy, important week which will see most of his charges utilised.

“Our objective today was to try and put on a good performance against a strong Norwich team and a strong squad and obviously to try and get through to the next round and we have managed to achieve that,” said Grayson.

“I thought the players were excellent, we made numerous changes to freshen the team up with three games this week and everybody who came into the team performed and done a real professional job against a very strong Norwich team today.

“It wasn’t as if they didn’t have many big hitters out, they had some strong players out there who have played in the Premiership and international football.”
