Simon Grayson Gives Reaction To Crawley Clash

31 January 2015

Manager Simon Grayson is glad to see the back of January. The PNE boss gave his verdict on the Crawley game to PNE Player.

Speaking straight after the final whistle the PNE boss admitted he felt like he was repeating the same things again after a disappointing result in Sussex.

“We seem to be like a broken record at the moment in terms of having to say we are frustrated; that we are not being clinical enough or ruthless enough,” he told the Club’s online video channel.

“It has been a horrible month for us – for everybody connected with the Club.

“After the Christmas period we all felt that we had a great opportunity to really kick on with our results and we haven’t done that.”

However, despite the setback the gaffer is determined that his side will come out fighting in order to return to their pre-new year form.

“When things like this happen you can either stick your head in the sand or you can stick your chest out and say ‘right, we’re going to do everything in our power to make sure we turn this around’,” he continued.

“There will be people who are disillusioned with how things are going, but today’s game could have been over and done with in the first 15 minutes with the chances we created and for large parts of the game we dominated possession.

“They scored against the run of play and it gave them the belief to hang on to something and from then on we had possession, but we weren’t ruthless enough or the final pass wasn’t quite right, which a few weeks ago wasn’t the case, which is why it’s so disappointing that we are not getting the results.”
