Simon Grayson Looks Ahead To Big Week For North End

19 January 2015

Manger Simon Grayson speaks to PNE Player ahead of a week that sees his side play in three competitions in the next seven days.

First up is Yeovil Town on Tuesday and the gaffer is looking for a big reaction from his players after a disappointing performance but remains positive about the week ahead.

"I had a meeting with the players yesterday and said we can't affect what happened on Friday night but we can certainly affect what happens on Tuesday and Saturday and the following Tuesday.

"We've got a big week infront of us, we want to get three points in the league, we want to get three points, we want to get through to the fifth round of the FA Cup and potentially still get to Wembley in the JPT final so it's a big week for us and every player has got an opportunity and whatever team I put out on Tuesday night we would expect to try and get three points.

"We've tried to be positive with the players, my feelings were made very clear on Friday night, that we didn't reach the standards. On Friday we didn't do well enough as a team, some bad decision making throughout that and not enough quality. But that's gone now, we have to affect what we can affect on Tuesday night.

"It's three games coming up, it's a massive part for this football club to be involved in these three big games. Win on Tuesday night in the league and close the gap on the top two, win on Saturday you're in the fifth round and potentially still a chance to get to a Wembley final as well.

"So it's exciting times, yeah we can be disappointed with what happened on Friday but there's still lots of positives to go with what we've done so far this season.
