Bailey Happy To Be Back

10 July 2015

Aussie defender Bailey Wright met up with his teammates again this week after a slightly extended summer break.

After spending almost two weeks away with the Australian national side after a long season with North End, the 22-year-old returned to training on Monday and is delighted to be back amongst the PNE squad.

"It's always nice to have a few extra days to relax, obviously I was away with Australia for just dner two weeks which was good.

"It was a great camp but at the same time you need a little bit of time to get your body relaxed and ready for a big season ahead.

"I came in on Monday after those few extra days and it's nice to be back in the place and see everyone. Everyone has come back in good shape and looking forward to the season.

And Bailey is feeling in much better shape this pre-season after a long summer last year with travelling to the World Cup with Australia and suffering from a niggling injury for the early part of the 2014/15 campaign.

"I feel completely different to be honest. Last year I didn't really get much of a break. It was full on straight after the end of the season, straight to the World Cup.

"That was a great experience but coming back to pre-season it took it's toll on y body and my groin struggled.

"Now already with scores and tests we've done already I am in much better condition than I was this time last year so  I just need to make sure I maintain it and hit the ground running."
