Clarke On Carlisle Test As Season Opener Draws Closer

27 July 2015

PNE skipper Tom Clarke is looking forward to the next step towards the start of the season, which sees a trip to Brunton Park on Tuesday night.

Clarke and his teammates face Carlisle United, with less than two weeks to go before the 2015/16 season kicks off, and the defender can't wait for that day to come around, but knows there's still work to be done before then.

Speaking to PNE PlayerHD after PNE's 2-1 win over Motherwell, the  27-year-old said: "It's another tough game, Carlisle are a tough team, and they are a similar stage to us pre-season wise so so it's going to be another tough test for the boys.

"Hopefully we can get the fitness in, stay injury free and come out of it the other side ready for the season.

"I can't wait for the season, we have another tough game after this one against Bury, and then we start the season and everyone is looking forward to it.

"We start with a massive game against Middlesbrough at home, in front of the Sky cameras and everyone is fit and raring to go and wants to be in the team for that first game."
