Confidence Is High For Jack After First Goal Of Pre-Season

30 July 2015

Young striker Jack Ryan got on the scoresheet for the first time this summer last night, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Ashington.

The game also marked the forward's first full 90 minutes of the pre-season campaign, and the 19-year-old is feeling confident ahead of the new season.

Speaking at full-time, Ryan admitted it was good to finally get off the mark, and is hoping it's the first of many this season.

"It's massive. I've had chances in the last few game which I haven't been able to take, so my confidence hasn't been that high really but now I will just kick on.

"The season is coming around soon and hopefully I can just push on now and see what I can do.

"It was a good workout tonight, it was my first 90 minutes of pre-season and I needed that.

"It's good as well for the young boys to test themselves, because they're not used to playing against men, they only play against other teams their own age so it will have been good for them too. It was a good physical test and a good win."
