Gaffer Pleased With Pre-Season Progress Ahead Of Chorley Fixture

10 July 2015

Manager Simon Grayson is pleased with the way his players are progressing in training ahead of the first pre-season friendly.

North End take on Chorley in the first game of their pre-season schedule on Saturday, and the PNE boss is happy with the commitment of his players so far.

"I am really pleased, I think the players have come back in really good shape, everybody's hit the ground running with everything we have asked them to do.

"Whether it's long distance work, speed work, football work, gym work, everybody's embracing what they're doing.

"They know that it's a means to an end, that they need to get fit and there's no easy way of getting around pre-season but I'm really pleased with the effort and the attitude of the players and ultimately their condition as well.

"They didn't have too long off over summer but they still needed that rest but they've certainly hit the ground running since they've been back and I'm really pleased with that.
