Match Preview: Chorley v Preston North End

10 July 2015

Preston North End kick-off their pre-season schedule this weekend as the squad prepare for life in the Championship.

North End take on Chorley in the Jack Kirkland Trophy at 3pm on Saturday 11th July at Victory Park. It will be the PNE fans’ first chance to see the team in action since that historic win at Wembley.

The Lilywhites will be looking to get their pre-season campaign off to a winning start and retain the trophy after coming back from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2 last July.

Simon Grayson expects to field two different sides to give the majority of his players a run out on Saturday, which could see new signing Will Keane in action for the Lilywhites for the first time.

Speaking ahead of the match, the gaffer is looking forward to the game and gives an insight into his squad selection.

“Chorley will be a good test for us, so it’s great that we go there and play them. I think it’s important that we maintain our links with Chorley and Bamber Bridge as two local teams.

“We will have two teams that will play, one for the first half and one for the second half, and hopefully we will get a good workout from it.

“I would have thought Will [Keane] would be involved, he’s done his pre-season with Manchester United so far, and he’s done everything.

“He joined in training on Thursday morning with us and I don’t see any problems with why he should be involved on Saturday.”

Entry is £5 on the turnstiles for all, with U12s free of charge but they must be accompanied by a paying adult.

If you are coming to the match, the address for Victory Park is:
