Joe Garner Signs New Three Year Deal At PNE

16 June 2015

Joe Garner has signed a new three year contract at Preston North End, keeping him at the Club until the end of the 2017/18 season.

The striker was prolific last season as North End secured promotion to the SkyBet Championship, ending the season as the Club's top goalscorer with 27 goals in all competitions, despite missing part of the season through injury.

Growing up as a PNE fan himself, getting promoted while playing for his boyhood Club was a dream come true for Joe and the striker was delighted to commit his future to the Club.

"I'm over the moon to have signed. As soon as the offer was there, I didn't want to go anywhere else. I'm happy here, I love the Club and I'm just looking forward to next year now.

"The fans are brilliant here, they've been brilliant with me for the past two years so I'm just happy to sign another three years and hopefully I can carry on where I left off.

"Three years is a long time and hopefully we can compete in the next division next year and try and push on again."

Speaking of the frontman's new contract, manager Simon Grayson was delighted to extend Joe's stay at the Club.

"It's brilliant. Obviously this time last year we negotiated with Joe about a contract and obviously delighted to have secured him again on a longer term contract

"When you look at what Joe did as an individual last year, when you look at the number of goals he scored and he missed ten weeks of the season, it was an unbelievable return.

"He then obviously rounded off a fantastic season winning the League One Player of the Year award as well.

"So it's great that Joe has committed his future to our Club because no doubt there was speculation about other clubs wanting to come in for him but it just proves to us and to other people what are intentions are as a football club over the summer so far."
