Simon Grayson Can't Wait For New Season To Come Around

12 June 2015

After leading his team to promotion, manager Simon Grayson can't wait for the new campaign to get underway and believes the excitement starts next week.

Speaking to PNE Player ahead of his bike ride in aid of  Prostate Cancer UK, the gaffer expects the excitement around the Club to step up a level next week and can't wait for the new season to get underway.

"It's that time of the season where people might not necessarily think that things are being worked on behind the scenes but we certainly are and things have come to fruition over the last few days.

"Jermaine has signed, Hunts [Paul Huntington] and Tom Clarke did, Chris Humphrey, John Welsh has, Bailey has had his option activated and negotiations are going on with other players, and new ones who we are looking to bring in as well.

"We're moving on nicely, pre-season arrangements are all being moved along now so before you know it, 2nd July comes and we're back in training, running around that pitch."

"These next couple of days agents can't get hold of me so I won't be able to do any deals but I will pass that on to other people at the Club. Then the excitement really comes around, Tuesday when the League Cup draw comes out, then the fixtures and everybody will have different views on who they would like to play and when.

The local derbies, first game, over Christmas and the last game, but no matter who you're playing now, it's exciting because all of those fixtures are big football clubs. It's why we've worked extremely hard over the last few years to get there and I can't wait for it to come around now.
