Bailey Feeling Fresh Ahead Of The Run In

16 March 2015

North End defender Bailey Wright is feeling fit and fresh ahead of a tough end to the season for the Lilywhites.

Having missed a large part of the season through injury, the Aussie defender worked hard to return to fitness and feels he is now getting back to his best ready for the business end of the campaign.

"It's been a bit different for me from last season, obviously I had a stint out with injury, probably now I'm feeling fresh and I had that opportunity to get myself sorted and had almost a mini pre-season for myself to build up fitness again." The 22-year-old told PNE Player.

"I feel I'm ready to kick on even more again now, we've got a few boys who've played a lot of games this season and I think they've shown even now how fit the squad is and how strong everyone is. Everyone seems to be kicking on another level and still pushing on so it's not just myself, I think a lot of the boys are feeling pretty good.

"I'd say I'm definitely starting to come back to myself, I still want to keep improving and get better and that will always remain the same, always wanting to do better.

"But it's nice when you've had the frustration of injuries and being on the sidelines and in the treatment room getting yourself sorted and things like that, it is a frustrating time for anyone.

"Anyone who plays football will tell you that they hate being injured. You'd much rather be out on the park playing every Saturday. So you've just got to bide your time and work hard, and it's nice to be back playing now and to be in a team that's winning and playing well obviously is extra special."
