Chris Humphrey: "We're Fit And We're Confident"

12 March 2015

North End winger Chris Humphrey believes PNE's hard work throughout pre-season is paying off now with such a high work rate amongst the side in every game.

The Lilywhites keep the tempo high throughout matches until the final whistle and Humphrey believes this is part of the reason for the team's success so far this season and hopes to continue it on Saturday when Crewe come to Deepdale.

"The work ethic is amazing, you can thank Tom [Little, fitness coach] for that in pre-season, it was the hardest pre-season I've ever had. I don't like running but you have to get through it, it was hard, it was tough but it's showing now when we're steam rolling teams in the last twenty minutes.

"I felt physically fine at MK Dons in the last ten minutes and some of them were blowing so it just shows that we're fit and we're confident and when you're confident you're fitness comes through as well.

"Everyone's just enjoying playing at the minute and we are just hoping this continues."

Speaking of Saturday's game against Crewe, Chris admits that it will be a tough game, but one that the team can win.

"It's a difficult game, it's a bogey team if you like, this is a difficult game for us but I just feel with the way we are playing and the confidence around here, I just think that if we play like we did against MK Dons and like we have done in previous games I think we will be alright.

"We'll give them a good game and hopefully we can come away with the victory."
