Gaffer Feels Togetherness Could Be Key

16 March 2015

Manager Simon Grayson believes that the spirit around the squad has played a big part in the season so far and hopes it can continue pushing them to reach their goal.

Speaking to PNE Player ahead of Tuesday night's game against Peterborough at Deepdale, the gaffer feels the togetherness in the dressing room could play a big part in ending the season on a high, with a tough run of fixtures ahead for the Lilywhites.

"I think it's been a real thing about the club since I've been here, the group of players that we inherited to a certain degree, but also the ones we've brought in, have always liked to have a good spirit and a good dressing room.

"The players do get on, you're disappointed when you're not playing but they really stick together as a group and that's been the case here.

"You do see them all celebrating and trying to achieve the goal that they all set out at the start of pre-season. Some are disappointed when they're not playing as we touched on, but they've all contributed and they've all played a part and will play a part over the next few weeks. Hopefully that togetherness can really galvanise us and keep us going.

"Even when we were sort of struggling a little bit in January, there was no doom and gloom, there was no back biting. It was basically a team effort to say 'right we've had a disappointing time, let's do something about this to turn around our form' and that is the spirit that is in the group that has helped us along the way."
